CHRO AI Current

A workplace-AI publication for people leaders balancing workforce capability, employee experience, operational evidence, and the legal and human consequences of algorithmic decisions.

Workforce updates

Visier Vee charts need a portable workforce-context stamp

Visier's current Vee page describes workforce answers, charts, summaries, trends, correlations, and recommendations available inside Microsoft 365, Teams, Slack, Visier, intranets, and connected AI agents. It also says Vee respects the access level of the person asking. That can govern the original interaction, but a chart pasted into a deck, screenshot in a message, or number copied into a talent review may travel without its filters or access boundary. The CHRO should require every consequential Vee output to carry a portable workforce-context stamp before it can inform a people decision.

Answer capsule

Visier's current Vee page describes workforce answers, charts, summaries, trends, correlations, and recommendations available inside Microsoft 365, Teams, Slack, Visier, intranets, and connected AI agents. It also says Vee respects the access level of the person asking. That can govern the original interaction, but a chart pasted into a deck, screenshot in a message, or number copied into a talent review may travel without its filters or access boundary. The CHRO should require every consequential Vee output to carry a portable workforce-context stamp before it can inform a people decision.

What the source establishes

  • Visier describes Vee as a people-analytics agent that answers natural-language workforce questions and offers follow-up questions and resources.
  • The page says Vee and Vee Boards can produce answers, charts, summaries, trends, outliers, correlations, and recommendations for leaders.
  • Visier describes Vee access through Microsoft 365, Teams, Slack, Visier, intranets, APIs, and a governed MCP connection to other AI agents.
  • The page says Vee respects the questioner's access level, but it does not explain how every copied, exported, screenshotted, or forwarded output preserves population definitions, filters, permitted uses, and access restrictions.

Define the minimum workforce-context stamp

Attach a visible and machine-readable context block to any workforce output that may leave the original interaction. It should name the metric and version, population, exclusions, organizational hierarchy effective date, geography, time period, comparison group, filters, minimum-group or suppression rule, data-as-of time, refresh cadence, source system, query or analysis identifier, requester's role, intended decision use, prohibited reuse, and accountable people-analytics owner. For a generated correlation or recommendation, also label it as descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, or advisory and state the inference boundary. A chart title such as 'attrition risk by team' is not enough: viewers need to know whose data, which period, what definition, and whether the output may be used in an individual employment decision.

Keep access control attached after the answer

Test what happens when an authorized user copies a number into Word, exports a chart to PowerPoint, posts a summary in Teams or Slack, invokes Vee through another agent, or sends a screenshot to a broader group. The downstream file or message may no longer inherit the permissions that governed the query. Establish handling labels, restricted destinations, expiration rules, and audience checks for outputs containing small groups, sensitive attributes, individual-level information, or easily re-identifiable combinations. Where the platform cannot enforce downstream controls, narrow export and copy permissions, apply aggregation or suppression, and require a link back to the governed view rather than a detached image. Log who created and shared the artifact without treating access to one metric as permission to reuse it for another purpose.

Revalidate context at the people-decision moment

Before an output informs workforce planning, succession, promotion, performance, compensation, scheduling, learning assignment, retention outreach, or restructuring, the decision owner should verify that the stamped population and permitted use match the actual decision. Require a current refresh when the organization structure, worker status, job architecture, survey participation, metric definition, or source completeness has changed. Separate a trend or correlation from a causal claim, and keep group-level analysis from becoming an unsupported conclusion about an individual. Provide an affected-person correction and accommodation route where applicable. The CHRO should explicitly prohibit detached charts from serving as the sole basis for consequential action, even when the underlying question was asked by an authorized leader.

Audit portability, not only query accuracy

Pilot with a small set of representative outputs across the advertised surfaces. Seed different permission levels, small populations, stale hierarchies, excluded workers, ambiguous metric names, and a downstream recipient who lacks access to the original view. Verify that context survives rendering, copying, exporting, forwarding, printing, and invocation through connected agents; that blocked data do not reappear in narrative summaries; and that a changed metric invalidates or visibly dates prior artifacts. Measure unstamped outputs, missing fields, unauthorized recipients, broken source links, re-identification risk, stale reuse, corrections, and time to withdrawal. Close the pilot only when HR can trace each sampled people decision back to the correct governed analysis and explain what the artifact could not establish.

Turn this source into a reviewable decision

For AI for CHROs, use this briefing as a dated decision record rather than a substitute for the source. Preserve Vee: The AI agent that helps everyone make better people decisions, the exact URL, the September 5, 2026 review date, the supported facts above, the editorial interpretation, the limitations, and any buyer-specific evidence. Link that record to the decisions most directly affected: Workforce and capacity planning; Workplace AI governance and change; Skills intelligence and internal mobility; Learning and capability development. State whether the source changes the scope, evidence requirement, control, sequence, or only the language used to describe the decision.

Before action, name the accountable owner, affected population and workflow, exact offering or configuration, source data and rights, human decision point, exception and appeal path, complete cost, expected benefit, failure and stop conditions, retained evidence, and next review date. Keep official facts, provider statements, buyer observations, representative tests, measured outcomes, editorial inferences, and unknowns visibly separate. Reopen the record when the source, offer, model, integration, data, policy, population, responsible person, or measured result changes.

Limitations and unknowns

The source is Visier's current Vee product page as checked on September 5, 2026. It establishes Visier's public descriptions of workforce answers, charts, summaries, recommendations, supported work surfaces, MCP connectivity, and permission-respecting behavior. It does not independently establish answer accuracy, inference validity, downstream export controls, suppression behavior, purpose compatibility, customer configuration, employment-law compliance, realized outcomes, or a verified post-cutoff product change. Product capabilities can change. The current product documentation, contract, data dictionary, metric definitions, organizational hierarchy, permission model, export and sharing behavior, audit logs, configured suppression rules, rendered artifacts, employment-decision procedures, and qualified people analytics, HR, employee relations, labor, security, privacy, accessibility, records, works-council, regulatory, and legal review control.

Decision test

Ask whether the source changes the decision itself, the evidence required, the implementation sequence, or only the language used to describe an existing capability. Record which claims are directly supported, which are provider statements, which require an independent test, and which remain unknown. A source-linked review should make uncertainty easier to see, not bury it inside a blended score.

Questions to take into review

  • Which business demand and skills definitions drive the model?
  • How are contingent and affected worker populations represented?
  • Which roles and tasks change?
  • How are workers or representatives involved?
  • Who owns the skills taxonomy?
  • Can employees inspect and correct their profile?
  • Which learning outcome is being assessed?
  • What data is visible to managers or used in employment decisions?
The publication supports research and executive decision preparation. It does not provide legal, financial, accounting, employment, clinical, cybersecurity, investment, procurement, or implementation advice.
